Richard H. Levin
Richard H. Levin received his law degree from the University of California at Berkeley, has over 30 years of experience, is the firm’s senior partner, and oversees the firm’s construction defect practice. He has been involved in every aspect of the dispute resolution process, including mediation, trials and appeals.
Richard has been influential in shaping Washington construction defect laws, and his opinions on this subject are often sought by legislators and other attorneys. In addition to his active involvement in CAI, Richard and other members of Levin & Stein have spent hundreds of hours working with the Washington State Legislature to ensure that condominium association rights are not diluted by legislation sponsored by the home builders’ lobby.
Over the years, Richard has authored numerous articles on real estate subjects, including a number of articles on resolving construction defect claims. Richard has also taught college-level courses in Real Estate Law, advanced Real Estate Law and Insurance Law, taught Contract Law to law students and lectured to groups of real estate sales agents, brokers, contractors and property managers on the legal aspects of real estate construction and sales. Richard has also been quoted in newspaper articles and journals, including the Wall Street Journal.
Richard is also a frequent speaker at seminars, including numerous CAI programs on construction defect resolution, and is often consulted by state legislators regarding proposed legislation affecting condominium association and homeowner rights. Richard is licensed to practice in both Washington and Oregon.
